What is dirt costing your system?
Three quick questions: how many panels, where you are, and when they were last cleaned. We'll show what a clean is worth to you each year.
That's about 6.4 kW (based on 400 W panels). Not sure? Pick the closest option above.
You could be getting back up to
$482
per year, about $33 a month off your bills
Dirt is costing you around 15% of your power right now. Every month you wait is about $40 gone.
Over 10 years that's $4,821 back in your pocket, from panels you already own.
Estimates only, based on average sunshine for your state and typical dirt levels. Your real result depends on roof direction, shade and panel age.
How the numbers work
- Generation potential
- System size (kW) × average daily peak sun hours for your state × 365 days × a 78% performance ratio, which allows for inverter, wiring, heat and orientation losses.
- Soiling loss
- Dust, salt, pollen, bird droppings and ash cut output. We apply industry loss bands of 5–12% for lightly soiled panels, 12–18% for moderate and 18–25% for heavy soiling, which is common on farms and industrial estates.
- Dollar value
- Recovered kWh × your electricity rate. If you export a lot of power, use your feed-in tariff instead for a more conservative figure.
These are estimates for guidance, not a performance guarantee. A site inspection gives an accurate figure.
